Greyson is also a video artist, writer and activist; he is currently a professor at York University, where he teaches film and video theory and film production and editing. Queers Against Israeli Apartheid (QuAIA) — cosponsor of this talk — formed to work in solidarity with queers in Palestine and Palestinian resistance movements around the world. In a recent decision, Pride Toronto banned the term "Israeli Apartheid", ending 30 years of censorship-free Pride. The backlash has been fierce, with protests and several high profile community members speaking out and declining positions, such as Dr. Alan Li and Jane Farrow.
