IAW Gaza 2010
The One Democratic State Group, PSCABI and BDS Campaign in Gaza are pleased to announce the launch of Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) in Gaza for the first time March 1-10, 2010 along with more than 40 cities around the world. Since it was first launched in 2005, IAW has grown to become one of the most important global events in the Palestine solidarity calendar. It includes lectures, film screenings, round- table discussion and workshops in response to the call of Palestinian civil society for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel. 3 March 2010 3 – 5:30 pm Screening of "Mandela", a documentary about the anti-apartheid struggle Discussion with Dr. Haidar Eid about the South African experience during the apartheid era 4 March 2010 8 – 9 pm A video link with Barcelona. A presentation by PACBI member in Gaza Dr: Haidar Eid at a BDS conference organized by the Technical University of Catalonia. The right to education in Palestine. 7 March 2010 3 pm Screening "Fatenah", an animation film about suffering under direct military occupation, and the inhumane siege of Gaza. Round-table discussion about the strategies to break the siege and the possibility of a Palestinian state according to Oslo accord 9 March 2010 12-14:30 pm A video link with Al- Quds University –symposium about various forms of Israeli apartheid Israeli apartheid in Gaza, West Bank, and 1948 Palestine 10 March 2010 3:00 pm Skype link-up with the activist, writer and editor of ELECTRNIC INTIFADA Ali Abunimah.
